History of CBSPAN

April 25, 1982   The Maryland-DC Association of Recovery Room Nurses was chartered as a component, with two districts, Baltimore and District of Columbia

1984-1985 Marilyn Glaser, RN,  4th ASPAN President

1985-1986 Western Maryland became the 3rd District.

The name was changed to MD/DC Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses

1987-1988 Eastern Shore became the 4th District

1989-1990 The name was changed to Chesapeake Bay Society of Post Anesthesia Nurses (CBSPAN)

1997-1998 The name was changed to Chesapeake Bay Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses

1999-2000 Myrna Mamaril, MS RN CPAN CAPA FAAN, 19th ASPAN President

2004-2005 Dina Krenzischek, PHd RN CPAN, 24th ASPAN President

April 25, 2007 CBSPAN celebrated it’s 25th anniversary as a chartered component

2011-2012 Chris Price, MSN RN CPAN CAPA, 31st ASPAN President

March 2011 Western MD District suspended

April 25, 2012 CBSPAN celebrated it’s 30th anniversary as a chartered component

February 2, 2014 Western MD District reinstated as the fourth District in CBSPAN
