Springtime in Washington, DC is refreshing, exciting and really welcomed this year. I think the entire East Coast is ready for spring! We are ready to enjoy the wonderful sites that Washington, DC has to offer such as the National Mall, the Smithsonian, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and of course the celebrated Cherry Blossoms. In the midst of all of this beauty and splendor, the DC District and the Maryland Suburbs are embedded with stupendous hospitals filled with excellent perianesthesia nurses. Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, ice or snow, rain or shine; the perianestheisa nurse is prepared to give pre and postoperative care to their patients. The DC District of CBSPAN continues to educate and equip the perianesthesia nurse with quarterly seminars and workshops. The percentage of certified nurses in the specialty of perianestheisa nursing is increasing in our district due to mentorship and available resources. The 33 Nurses throughout the area will represent the DC District at the conference. If you are a perianesthesia nurse and live in Washington, DC or suburbia Maryland, I invited you to join ASPAN and unite with the DC District of CBSPAN. I welcome your membership, experience, ideas and support.
