The Governmental Affairs SWT informs ASPAN leaders and members regarding federal level healthcare related legislative activities.
The Governmental Affairs SWT Coordinator emails legislative information to team members. The members then contact their respective component governmental affairs liaisons to disseminate new information, and stimulate and guide grassroots member involvement.
The SWT encourages ASPAN members to attend the Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) program, offered annually by the Nursing Organizations Alliance. Eligible ASPAN members are encouraged to apply for a NIWI scholarship via the ASPAN Scholarship Program.
